how to get in shape for cross country skiing in 6 days?
okay soooo yeah i procrastinated and i know i wont be super strong in six days but i’m gonna be on the cross country ski team this year. theres no snow right now where i live so i’m assuming during the first few practices we’ll just be running and doing other core workouts and stufff and i was just wondering what i should do. i’m willing to work out all day for the next six days if i have to. just give me a few exercises to do. thankss
Oh, and I just learned about some "secret" exercises that all skiers should be doing for powerful legs and reducing injuries. Click here to read about the secret exercises. The exercises were really awesome and helpful. I highly recommend it.Tags: country ski team, cross country ski, cross country ski team, exercises, six days, stufff, workouts

As with all conditioning, start easy and do not over do it. Walk 15 minutes, jog 5, fast walk 5 and repeat. After 1 hour, ice down and wait 2 hours to start over. This should prevent early season muscle damage that will prevent you competing for several weeks. Torn muscles take time to heal.
There’s not much you can do in six days. It just takes longer than that for the body to adapt to exercise. You can’t really make up for what you haven’t been doing, unfortunately. If I were you I would get in three good exercise sessions before you start practice. Run about 30 minutes and then do some push ups, crunches, supermans (for your lower back), jumps, hops, and lunges. That’s about all you can do now, there’s no point in going super hard because you’ll be so tired at the first practice it’ll seem like you’re really out of shape! Also make sure you’re well hydrated at yur first practice, that will help a little.
