How do you get out of a exercise rut?

David | December 6, 2010 | 6:25 am

I have been intensely working out for the past 3+ months and have lost 25lbs thus far; dropped from a size 10 to a size 6. I am 10lbs away from my goal but it seems like my body has stopped responding to my dieting and workout routine. So much that I have increased the speed & time in my running, increased intensity in spinning, ski machine and elliptical, and nothing. I have been at the same weight for 3 weeks now. What can I do to pick up the results again?

What are some good ski-racing workouts?

David | August 5, 2010 | 9:47 pm

So I’m a high school ski-racer, and after seeing the Olympics yet again I feel like that is what I want to accomplish in my life; to stand atop the podium at the olympics with a medal draped around my neck. Saying that isn’t enough however, and I know that. What I really need to do are some ski-specific workouts. I’m looking for stuff that can be done with the following equipment: free-weights, ski machine, roller-blades (I know I don’t have all the fancy machinery a gym might have but it’s too expensive, and I hate going to the gym.). For roller-blades I’ve had the idea of setting up a mock race course with cones and skating through it. But I’m at a loss for exercises I can do with my free-weights. In addition, what would be a good diet? I.E one that is prime for muscle building, with minimal fat gain? If someone could help me, I would be much obliged. Thank you very much.

David | June 23, 2010 | 5:00 pm

Exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical, ski machine etc.
If you had the choice of only one, what would it be?
Any particular brand or series?

Butt toning exercises to do without equipment?

David | June 4, 2010 | 12:10 pm

I’m 5′ 3" and 112lbs, so I’m skinny, but I’m pushing 30 and my butt is shapeless and jiggly – no muscle or tone whatsoever. I’m looking for exercises I can do that will tone and tighten the butt area specifically.

My main form of general exercise is a full-body ski machine (the Gazelle) which I use for overall health purposes to get blood pumping and not be a couch potato. I don’t do any major working out otherwise because I look and feel fine, just not happy with the butt!

I’m looking for things I can do that don’t need any special equipment, other than the gazelle (if thats possible).

What are some good glut exercises?

David | April 3, 2010 | 7:24 am

I ride the bike (sitting low) on a high resistance level for 15-20 minutes, I do hip adductor muscles at 100lbs, I use the ski machine at level 5-6, and some of the machines that target legs and butt together.. (dont know the name but its like the quadricept machine but it works the muscles in the back of your legs) but Im not getting good results..?? Anything that really works? Maybe I just need more protein? Also I want to know is there a difference in what muscle in the legs/glut you are tonight when you ride the bike that sits low and the cycling bike that sits high?
The exercises that I do work but I dont have the so called "buns of steele"
